| [03-Oct-2016] | I rented from Absar for three years at both the State St and Madison Ave locations. I only moved out of the State St location due to street parking, the apartment itself was fine. I left the Madison Ave location only due to investing in my own property. Both buildings and apartments were nice and all of the tenants at both locations were quiet and professional during my time of living at the locations. I never had any issues interacting with Absar. He knew me by name, which is surprising given the number of tenants he has. He nearly always available whenever I needed to speak to him about something and any issues I had in the apartments were fixed in a timely fashion. In fact, I even called him once during a specified time-slot that was in my lease addendum that he would be unavailable and he still picked up and answered my questions rather than just hanging up. He was present for the lease signings for the apartments I had rented so he knew the condition they were in prior to me moving in. He replied to my e-mails in a timely manner and always answered his phone when I called. At the Madison Ave location, a pipe had burst during the winter and I notified him, then the repairs were made the same day (within hours actually). Any time the apartment was going to be shown or inspected or something, I was given a one or two day notice by either Absar or his leasing agent, which I consider ample time. Towards the end of my lease at the Madison Ave location, there were a couple of showings that either Absar or his leasing agent would ask if it was okay to show the apartment with less notice (usually a few hours still), but I was able to decline if it wasn't okay. The handyman that came around and works on/at all of Absar's properties was also quite friendly and professional, always knocking before entering and so on. I received my full security deposit after 60 days of moving out. Originally he had said 30 to 45 days after leaving, but since I had my mail on hold while I was waiting on my house to close (and living at a temporary address) we agreed on postponing it. Overall I thought Absar was a good landlord. He respected my privacy and addressed any of my concerns when issues came up, and that's all that I could really ask for from a landlord. The only downside I found to both locations, other than the horrid street parking at State St, was the coin operated laundry. I guess that's to be expected though since he covered heat and water at the locations. |
