Do not, do not, do not rent from this man! Sure, at first blush the apartments LOOK nice, but once you move in, you realize how poorly constructed and repaired everything is. You pay entirely too much for what you get - even for an already overpriced area. Document everything with this man. Make sure you do a proper move-in inspection WITH HIM THERE. Take photos and follow-up with an e-mail Point out anything and everything that you see that is wrong because he WILL try to charge you for it when you move out - even if you have documentation. He's just hoping that you won't take him to court. Also, you'll call him for a repair and it when it's still not done a week later, he will swear up and down that you never called. He (or his workers) would frequently enter the apartment without notice. When I would ask him about it, he would respond that he "forgot" to call ahead of time. He would sell out his own children if he could.
