| [05-Nov-2014] The landlord ignored my multiple written requests for basic repairs to the unit. In the multiple years I lived there I never saw an exterminator in the building no less the unit. The landlord illegally charged late fees for rent within the 5 business day grace period NJ allows, going so far as to create an illegal clause in the lease agreement and usin threatening text messages and emails to enforce it. The landlord switched my mailbox with another tenant without asking and has given my personal information out (including my phone number) to multiple people without permission. I was forced to live without heat for a month during the winter once because they refused to find a repair person in time to replace my broken heater. After hurricane sandy the landlord not only refused to offer to cover hotel costs while my building was uninhabitable but also tried to get me to return to the building weeks before powder was restored in an attempt to not lose that rent. Karen is absent and Ronnie is rude, overbearing, and difficult to work with. They illegally attempted to raise my rent mid lease and when I called hoboken housing authority for clarification as to why they were claiming the township was allowing the rent increase Ronnie got angry that I went to the proper authorities for answers and not him EVEN THOUGH HE HAD LIED TO ME! Do not rent from these people the building is rent control so make sure your rents fall within the law otherwise you are getting ripped off by these con artists. | |
