[13-Nov-2014] I have a tenant complaint against the management at 1305 Ingraham LLC owners of 1305 Ingraham St, Los Angeles, CA 90017. I moved into my unit on May 1st without being informed that there would be ongoing construction in the building, more so in the unit above mine on the second floor. I have emails dating back to June 24th in which I asked when the construction would finish and no definite response was given. I sent a certified letter stating the facts: I have been dealing with construction for four months now beginning at 6:30 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends, much of which management denied acknowledgment of. I asked for a discount on my upcoming rent for all my inconvenience and lack of sleep followed by a request to meet the owners to discuss in person. I met with the owner Sam Pars who was inconsiderate, harsh, and condescending. Instead of offering a solution or sympathizing towards what I had experienced, he told me I had a great deal at my place. I could leave anytime or move to a unit upstairs which would cost me more than my unit now. During four months I experienced debris falling from the ceiling while shaking, loud banging, hammering, sawing, slamming, and dropping of tools and equipment. It has been extremely uncomfortable and agonizing. I realize where I live is not luxury but the lack of professionalism and poor quality from management is really degrading! I looked over my contract and there was nothing in regards to ongoing construction. I plan to leave as soon as my contract is finished - 6 more months OR sooner if I find something in the area. I am also in the process of learning my tenant rights and seeing if there is a way to have 1305 Ingraham LLC investigated. My advice: Please DO NOT rent a unit from these people! They have a very professional and presentable agent Josh who shows the units and will make it seem like it's an easygoing and well run location but this is NOT the truth!
