[07-Jan-2015] Miss Garrett owner of Papillion Investments LLC. has been an extraordinarily ineffective and outright terrible manager /owner during my 2 year lease at 1037 Silverstone Ln. Cedar Park Tx.
During my 24 months leasing from her I encountered numerous problems with an older house and 14 year old appliances and carpet that were a direct result of her not doing the right thing for money reasons. I also experienced dishonesty with her unfulfilled promises with repair issues on the house during my lease.
I had to deal with her management style 6 months into our first contract sending her unemployed in-law to do a 24" X 24" drywall repair after a copper line inside the wall sprung a leak and it took him 3 days to complete the inadequate job and totally wasting my time having to be there during repairs.
I had a garbage disposal go out and she gave the repair company the wrong phone number for scheduling the repair. She managed to give the phone number for her other renter at 1019 Silverstone Ln. resident and we were without a kitchen sink for 2 weeks because I'm waiting for a scheduling phone call that did not happen in a timely fashion due her own confusion and incompetence.
The hot water heater started leaking and the drain pan had a leak also and it soaked the hot water heater niche in the laundry room. The niche had a drywall base and the drywall was soaked and started growing black mold. The repair company fixed the hot water heater but did not fix the black mold drywall. A week later she calls me and lets me know to look out for a contractor's call to schedule the moldy drywall repair. 2 months later she called and asked if anyone had called yet to schedule the repair which they had not and then she responded that she would check on it. Then 1 month after that she called again to let me know if anyone calls to not schedule it," she is going a different direction all the while I'm living in a house for months with black mold spoors disseminating throughout the house and on my furniture.
One of the many peculiar things I had to deal with as Miss Garret's tenant was she would come every 3 months to bring new AC air filters and pour Clorox down the AC drain. This was very strange routine for a landlord but after the 2nd visit I knew this was nothing but a ruse to monitor me and her house while portraying it as taking care of the house. It was quite creepy because I knew she was snooping at every opportunity to scrutinize and judged me. I also knew if I turned my back she would be going through my medicine cabinet and underwear draw in a heartbeat.
I also experienced her greed motivated dishonesty with the move out check list which was her vehicle to confiscate as much of my deposit as possible. At the move out walk through she is taking pictures of bread crumbs and reflections of streak marks of wiped down counter tops and even the dirt marks on the outside window sills between the screen and outside of the windows as evidence of inadequate cleaning and subsequent charges to my deposit. I had mowed the front and back lawn as well as used a weed eater on all grass areas and blower for all cuttings. I was charged $300.00 for lawn and landscaping charges for the likes of tilling her flower beds and trimming her " sago palm tree".
The straw that broke the camel's back for me and why I chose to post this review was her email to me concerning her 14 year old dishwasher. She emails with concern about some concrete like substance inside her old dishwasher that does not come out even with heavy scrubbing. She tells me she tried running the dishwasher and water started leaking out on the floor and that if the repair company considers this neglect that she will have to charge me for a dishwasher. What this amounts to is Miss Garrett scrubbed enough calcium and lime deposits from her 14 year old dishwasher to clog the drain and cause a water overflow. With her insinuations that I have somehow neglected her 14 year old dishwasher during my 2 year lease has been just one of many greedy dishonest tactics to confiscate my deposit.
I do not recommend anyone coming into any kind of contractual agreement with Papillion Investments LLC. or Myndi Garrett because you will be very frustrated and upset due to the amount of unfulfilled promises, utter incompetence and outright dishonesty. Not to mention that eerie and creepy feeling that will come from being watched, monitored and judged in your own home. |
