[10-Mar-2016] The only issues I had with this landlord was this:
1. He was slow to make repairs and when he did they were half heartedly done. He was not about really fixing the problem. He band aids the problem.
2. I rented apartment A and D from him. He did not reveal that apartment A was susceptible to flooding. Also, there is a hole above the window my the front door that leaks a considerable amount of water during rainy times, which mean all that water is collecting at the base of the window and running down into the wall.
3. Apt D has an issue with mold and I mean really bad. He did not reveal that because of the way the place was built that it had an issue with mold and mildew. I lost the majority of my furniture and his ideal of compensation was giving me a $100 of the rent if I stayed. His idea of fixing the problem was spot cleaning with some simple green, dehumidifying the place, and running the air at about 63 degrees, which I could not do with a 2.5lb Yorkie pup.
4. I was able to get my deposit back and my current months rent back to move into another place at the last minute, but even that was a fight.
5. He tried to play like he did not know about the issues with the apartment, but previous tenants let me know that he did and one previous tenant reported it after succumbing to the same demise as myself. You also made me feel like it was my fault and bad mouthed me to other tenants.
I was a good tenant that went above and beyond. He never had to worry about my rent being late. All I was asking for was honesty up front, and to properly rectify the issues. I wanted him to take responsibility, but he did none of these things.
He rents on 345 South M Street so renter please beware! |
