[04-Aug-2018] He towed my car and refused to reimburse us for the tow. He claimed his refusal to do so was because “too much obstinance” made leasing impossible as if it was somehow our responsibility to get his property rented at the end of our lease. He asked that we kept it clean for showings which we did. The only thing that could be considered obstinance was when we were contacted about a showing on the same day and we refused and asked for a 24 hrs notice in the future which was well within our rights as renters. The reason leading the property was impossible was be eh was asking for $800/month for 600 sq ft with unsealed, uninsulated windows cooled by two old window units in south Louisiana. He highly overvalued his properties and no one was desperate enough to lease from him as there are many many places available in our college town in August. The only reason we settled for his apartment was because it was a convenient location and it was one of the few apartments available when we were looking. |
