[15-Feb-2019] While the house itself is not bad, the landlord is an unethical nut. Her tells everyone whatever it takes to get the money, then the real him comes out. He's renting out every room in the house then complaining he feels others have taken over his house and he wants everyone out. No one has ever paid the rent late, but because he is in a financial pickle so he demands tenants front him money or he's kicking them out. Everyone has to move their car constantly because half the driveway must remain open so he never has to ask anyone to move their car. No one gets their deposit back. He's talked about past and current tenants and lists why they won't be getting it back. There real reason is that he's broke. He owes back child support he's not paying and a background check shows he's on probation. (Before renting from anyone, do one of the $1 background check websites that let you cancel within 48 hours, I wish I did BEFORE coming here.) He leaves little notes all over the house instead of taking to people. He doesn't even own the house, the bank does and he's lying to them that no one's renting it. Because of the back child support he can't do proper financial transactions, no escrow account for the deposit, just cash. This guy doesn't understand boundaries at all. He's tried raising the rent after moving in, charging for having friends over, totally insane! ($25 notes for each person that came over left on the table.) When moving in he said he had a handyman coming to fix everything, never happened! The pool is always green on the bottom because he won't buy the proper chemicals or get a pool service. The internet and cable got shut off because he couldn't pay the bill. His solution was to open a new account under a different name so when that bill doesn't get paid in a few months they'll shut it off again. His solution to the broken 10 year old appliances is to put a note on them. I'm leaving soon and if you want to live here, you need to know what your getting into. When I moved in, he said the previous tenant just left and he doesn't know why.
He eats the tenant's food. My son has a job that he works until 3am so he's complain he's laying around all day when he's actually only getting a few hours of sleep several days a week. An insane, total control freak! He decided no one is allowed to spend more than 30 minutes in the bathroom. He actually looked through the bathroom window and told me my son's sitting in there on his phone, WTF??? Constantly scamming, I'm sure he'll violate his probation. He even said there's an arrest warrant for not paying his back child support. Yet he's listing again, so beware.
The landlords response:
... "As to being unacceptable, I am done with all of this. You refer to my flying off the handle, well let me let you in on a secret, I will do as I please--- this is MY HOUSE, not yours." ...
