[07-Apr-2019] I lived here for a year to finish out my lease. It was a long year dealing with a incompetent landlord. The property sits on about 2 acres. Tenants were responsible for part of the lawn care (the fenced in part in front of home)and landlord claimed in lease he would take care of rest. He only mowed twice and never bothered with the leaves in fall. It was terrible walking to your car everyday with the sprouted grass swiping your legs all the way up to your thighs. Never was able to utilize the yard for any outdoor use. Even after asking for him to come take care of it he wouldn’t.
He also was trying to sell the property. So at any given time he would call and tell us some interested buyer/stranger would be dropping by to look at the property. That could include coming into the mobile home that I was renting (there are two mobile homes on property). That was a huge inconvenience and it invaded our privacy. He would also come by unannounced. That happened at least a dozen times.
Now for the worse part is the mold problem in the mobile home. It made me sick for about 2 months(also 6 months pregnant) before I realized how prolific and bad the problem was and got out of there. Initially moving in the landlord had covered up the problem with new drywall. But eventually cracks allowed the mold to return to the inside. He did nothing about it and claimed we must have caused it. Looking back I wish I would’ve taken legal action against him.
Upon leaving he charged me for repainting, cleaning under washer/dryer & fridge. That was especially irritating because even after going through living in this dump I cleaned it very well to insure my deposit be returned. The lease did not include any exit procedure so I just did what I’ve done to the last 5 rentals to get my deposit back. I should have known he would still withhold my deposit.
