| [28-May-2020] She seems reasonable and pleasant when she shows her properties to prospective renters. Don't be fooled. Janine claimed that she would respect our privacy, but used her monthly visits to collect our rent to covertly inspect our house. Her standards for what passes as keeping the house well maintained were unreasonable to the point that we felt that merely owning possessions or using our kitchen would upset her. After living there for a year, she raised our rent from 2000 to 2200 and required us to hire a cleaning service at least twice a year on our own dime. She was going to raise the rent an additional $50 dollars the next year, which was a factor for us looking for another place to live. She also kept some of our security deposit for things that she legally couldn't, such as cleaning the cabinets, and threatened to keep all of it if we challenged it. Don't rent from Janine unless you like feeling like your nosy, unreasonable mother is constantly nagging you to clean your room. | ||||||||||
