[11-Aug-2020] The landlord provided a two page lease that was extremely vague prior to move in. She was asked to clarify areas of the lease but did not do so in writing, only verbally. Upon move out, the landlord refused to do a move-out inspection with the tenants. The landlord later claimed the apartment was not left to her satisfaction but the landlord refused to allow the tenants to come in fix any complaints such as a few small items like shoes being left and a window being dirty. The landlord did not return the security deposit in a timely fashion. A notice requesting return of the security deposit was sent and the landlord gave only a partial return a month after the notice was sent. The landlord failed to provide an itemized receipt explaining why a portion of the deposit was being kept. The matter had to be resolved in court.
