[27-Mar-2021] I would not recommend living at 1998 Main St, Morro Bay CA to any female under the age of 35 unless you are with a man. Jack Ferri is not a reasonable landlord and attempts to use intimidation and manipulation to get his way quite often. You could pay your rent on time and use 1/5th of the daily allotted water and you will still get berated and yelled at about silly things and texts about water usage regularly.
-There is relentless mail theft from other tenants.
-Jack is defensive if you bring up maintenance issues or other issues around the property (like tenants stealing your mail, or his business partner sending people to steal your stuff from your yard).
-He sends random men to come and check on things in your yard without notice as late as 9pm.
-There is no one to care for the place so places like the laundry room never get cleaned.
-The places are poorly built - they were a year old when I moved in and structural cracks around every window were seen and all the caulking was crumbling and cracking apart.
-He actually set up a meeting with me to yell at me about my plants (which he was fine with me bringing when I first moved in) and even told me my "pots were ugly" and I needed to buy new ones. He threatened to make me "throw away" all of my belongings because , "he can do that you know." He promised a shed (which other tenants had) and several other items to help with his insane demands and he never followed through.
-He sent a nasty email implying I was not capable of living in such an environment and that he'd let me out of my lease and so when I left because of his awful behavior and the poor management of the place he attempted to take a portion of my deposit which was never discussed or part of the lease until after I had left the property entirely.
-There is constantly smoking between the two chain smokers in the lot though there is "no smoking allowed" in the lot technically. It was awful because I was unable to enjoy the fresh air at all while there.
This man doesn't know what he is doing and is an awful landlord unless you are a middle aged man like him. He plays favorites with tenants and allows his friends to get away with breaking lease rules constantly while finding any little thing to get on you about. He lies about the safety of the place because he allows thieves to live in the lot. He spoke down to me often even though I am nearly 30, have 2 degrees, and am a working professional. |
