[10-Oct-2021] Rent from this woman at your own risk!!!
I was at the condo for 4 years with my wife, from day 1 she was difficult. We stayed because with a few exceptions (she did not maintain the property at all) the condo was great, and my wife and I were within 25 minutes to work.
When we first moved in rent was 1650 then after the 1st year it went to 1725, then because her fees went up with condo association, she decided 4 months into our 2nd year to raise rent to 1750.00 a month. Which I paid just to keep her from harassing me and my wife. Within the first year the AC broke, it took her 3 months to fix it, and 2 years to finally pay the company. So when the refrigerator broke in the 2nd year I found a great refrigerator at Loews, with my military discount it came out to 630.00$ of which I paid half to make sure we were not waiting months for a new one and to prevent us from getting a crappy one. During our 3rd year covid happened and even though me and my wife were down in Georgia for 7 of the 12 months I still paid the 1750.00 a month. Close to the end of the 3rd year I started to remind her that she had to give back 1 month of security deposit as my wifes and my credit score had reached a number we agreed upon. She had never put the money into an interest bearing account and I showed her New Jersey landlord-Tenant Law PDF showing that if not placed in account within 30 days it could be used as rent without her being able to ask for another deposit. At this point I had become so frustrated with her and her constant harassment and attempts to get more money from me, that I used the security deposit towards rent. She did not like that and entered the premises 2 times without our permission, us being there, and without telling us. She tried to make me get rid of my emotional support animal that is protected under 3 federal laws because I am a disabled veteran.
When we moved out she tried getting us to pay for new carpets, the carpets have not been changed in over 8 years and the condo association told her that were not up to their standards and had to be replaced. She also attempted to get us to pay for painting the walls, which is also her responsibility.
She is a slum lord that will attempt to steal your security deposit and try and get extra money out of you constantly.
Also the dish washer has never worked in the 4 years we were there.
If you are already living at the condo and are now reading this, look over the law and the lease as it will most likely be an illegal contract and thus Null and void. The condo association hates her and will be a great help to you if you need it.
