[04-Dec-2009] it took the land lord 2 months to fix the oven when we signed the lease. he said it would be in move shape the morning of the 1st cleaned and repainted. he called us the 31st and told us the last tenats didn't clean, he could paint and offered to drop $100 off the rent to help him. the kids hadn't cleaned the entire time they rented the place which was 2 years. ended up cleaning for 6 hours with 3 people while the land lord stood out side or wandered upstairs, he told us when we signed our lease that there would be fresh paint. we ended taking an extra day off of work to paint, then balked when we asked for half off the rent after I sent him a bill with the actual cost of paint which was over $1000 so we could move in I would advise if you rent from him to get every thing in writing don't agree to anything untill you see the move in condtion and if he says he's fixing something get a finish by date and stiff penalty for him if its not done. the bath room window won't close and lock and has no storm window its now Dec and he's finally looking at replacing it after we told him back in september it wasn't closing. he decides to do work to his apartment even though ours has safety issues. He has 2 romate who stomp in and out of the house at all hours of the morning with their drunk friends at all hours of the day. His best Qoute when we confront him about the work not done is he works alot of hours he don't consider that being a land lord is your running your own business. Use caution when renting from him luckly he only owns one building. |
