[22-Jun-2011] Pros:
George is a really nice guy. The apartments are absolutely beautiful inside and all the appliances are brand new.
Parking can somewhat be an issue as there is only one space alloted in each garage for each apartment and the back lot behind the garage is kind of tight.
Worth the rent which at the time was $650. The place is very secure and having George live in one of the buildings makes any issue with repair extremely easy.
Mr. Norton was always available when needed. If you need quarters for the washer and dryer, something repaired, etc. He is usually somewhere on the property or in his own apartment.
George kept the grass mowed and the parking lot, driveway and steps clear. There was never an issue gaining access to the building during incliment weather.
Non-smoking. This could be a pro or a con for a perspective renter. There's not really anywhere to smoke on the property unless you want to sit in your vehicle in the parking lot, or stand out in the open. However there's no tobacco smoke smell in any of the apartments.
Cons:
No pets allowed. Easy to understand as the building has been completely remodeled and the owner has expended a lot of time and money into the place. However, if you do have a dog or a cat you will have to find other accomdations for them.
Too small for children. The apartments are a decent size for being 2 bedrooms.. but I can't see an entire family living there. There is a small grassy area behind the building but it's not fenced in. I would recommend these apartments more for an older couple w/ grown children, a younger couple w/o children, a single man/woman, or 2 college students.
A 2 bedroom gets crowded quick if there are more then 2 or 3 adults living in one unit.
Washer/Dryer takes quarters(so you will always need to have plenty on hand) and are located on the ground floor in the garage area. Not too bad if you live on the 1st floor, but if you live on the 2nd floor you can expect to be hauling clothes down 4 sets of steps. If you live in one of the 1 bedroom apartments you will need to go outside and around the back of the building to gain access to the laundry room. |
