[20-Jul-2011] Susan was a "hands-off" landlord during the year and a half lease we had with her. This suited us fine, though we found it easier to bypass her completely in requesting repairs and call her maintenance man directly to get anything done for the apartment.
It was only after moving out however, that Susan became very difficult. She took a few weeks before returning our deposit and refused the entire amount saying we were responsible for professionally cleaning the apartment, something never mentioned before, nor accounted for in the lease. Her correspondence became rude and surly after we questioned her receipt to us: a hand written bill on a sheet of torn out notebook paper for the cleaning.
Our neighbors, also her tenants were considering legal action against her on their move out as well. I would warn anyone who considers renting from her to be very careful and to document every correspondence with her, as she appears to be someone with questionable integrity. |
