| [11-Sep-2011] Do not rent from Henry Austin (Curagh Realty). Henry ignored multiple alerts that there were leaks in our ceiling, causing two separate incidents of flooding in our apartment where our personal property was ruined and the apartment was left unusable. First in our bathroom which resulted in the ceiling falling in and then in the kitchen which flooded the kitchen area with filthy water covering our appliances and food. We had to clean up after both incidents because he did nothing about it. We never received any phone calls back about maintenance. Henry never answered his phone. Henry does not have a superintendent, he considers himself the super. Good luck getting ahold of him. He turns off his voicemail when he gets too many messages. No move in inspection. When we moved in he was on vacation for 10 days. He did not clean the apartment for us and did not call us back to tell us that he was on vacation. We needed to clean up after the previous resident. Mail boxes in lobby break frequently, these were not fixed in a timely manner leaving us without mail for 9 days. I gave Henry a 6 for "respected my privacy" because he was never there, even when we needed him. This would be ideal in a new building but from what we have experienced the building has several flows due to its age and needs a more accommodating and responsive person in charge of maintenance. Never again will I rent from Henry Austin. Total nightmare. | |
