[05-Sep-2006] Most of the ratings receive a strongly disagree because:
Upon waiting an entire month after move-in, several repairs had not been made, including repairing the bedroom light fixture (meaning I waited a month to have any light to get ready with, etc.). After leaving multiple voicemails to which I received no response, I finally caught him when he was in his office (a rarity). When I opened the door, he told me my calls were "annoying" him, that I was "a pain," etc. He continued to berate me for expecting repairs so soon, saying he was too busy, etc. I explained that the reason I kept calling was because I heard no response. This did not matter.
Also, I came home one evening to find one maintenance worker left the door completely open after leaving the property, even though no one was home.
There is also no call or advance notice as to when he is going to be on the property, as I have experienced with other landlords.
The bottom line: If you rent with this landlord, expect repairs to take forever, expect the property to be very dirty when you move in, and do not call him multiple times, even if he does not respond.
Note: There was no move-in inspection, so I have no way of knowing how he will figure the deductions from my security deposit. |
