COMMENTS (1)
[04-Jan-2007] This landlady was disagreeable, extremely rude and short with me, and untimely in her responses. I was attacked in her building and the only thing she said to me after it happened was: "This has never happened before." She never apologized or expressed concern, and I later found out that the outside motion-sensor light intended to deter intruders had a lightbulb out the night I was attacked-- HER responsibility, and something that could've very well prevented my attack. She then did not call me back for over a week after she said she would, while I was terrified, waiting to see if I could move into a new apartment in the building, and calling her every day. The building was broken into three times in six months, and she did next to nothing about it, even as she told another tenant that she thought the building was being targeted, and promised to take several measures that she ultimately never took. My front door lock was loose and my heat didn't work properly, and she refused to fix either one of these problems. After the third break-in to the building, she finally had the locks changed, which several tenants had suggested after the second break-in. She never dealt with me directly and instead always sent a third party, who was never introduced. Half the units of the building were rented to European students on a language course, so there were always temporary renters and strangers coming and going, and though she said she'd rectify this, she never did. This was the worst renting experience I've ever had. BEWARE.
