[28-Sep-2012] Amy and her sister Lucy own a few properties in the Central/Inman area. The property's are decently maintained.
However, if you do have a problem, it will not be promptly fixed unless you state that it is an emergency and that it needs to be fixed. I had to do this for a broken deadbolt which was the result of someone trying to break into the house. She then proceeded to call me "one of the worst tennants she has ever dealt with" and that I have unreasonable demands.
When moving out, make sure that you get her to sign a written agreement of the condition of the house and where she can send the security deposit. I unfortunately did not do this. I took a day off from work and cleaned every surface of the house. It was spotless. She then proceeded to not show up at our agreed upon meeting time to go over the condition of the house and to hand over the keys. After calling to see where she was, I was told by her that I was out of line for expecting her to be there. She then proceeded to notified me she would deduct $150 from my security deposit for a cleaning charge without my consent (the house was already spotless).
It is now close to a month since I have moved out and I still have not received my security deposit. She claims she had told the bank to forward it to my new address (which was properly set up via USPS.com) yet when I followed up with the local post office they had no record of anything being sent from the bank to my old or new address.
In summary, be prepared to be lied to, to your face by this lady. Make sure you have any agreements written and signed. |
