COMMENTS (1)
[22-Oct-2013] When the landlord found out that we were going to have three people in a two bedroom apartment, he added a fee for the third person.

When the landlord needed access to the unit, they normally gave some notice, but often times it was only a couple of hours rather than the full 24.

We had a mice problem the first fall/winter we lived there and the landlord's first reaction was to tell us that "That happens sometimes". It took significant effort on our part to try to put an end to the mouse problem ourselves before saying that we were going to hire an exterminator and take the cost out of the rent we paid if he didn't handle it himself. The landlord eventually gave in and handled the situation.

Before we moved in, I asked what the policy for rent increases was, as we were month to month in the summer and locked in during the winter. He told me that they hadn't ever raised the rent, but then raised the rent 9% after the first year there, siting a new external door to the shared basement and work the city did on a cracked water main as the cause.

Upon move out, general wear and tear items were cited as deductions from the security deposit at marked up rates and the deposit did not earn any interest whatsoever during the two year period.

I'm very glad to no longer be a tenant there and would not recommend renting from this location to anyone.
