| [25-Jun-2007] She came into the space completely unannounced on several occasions to "work" and on one occasion she even came in to accuse the downstairs neighbors of religious heresy because of the Wiccan shrine she'd set up in one of the back rooms. She payed a single, un-skilled worker to do all of her household repairs, including maintaining the woodwork and the tile floor in the kitchen. Most of the repairs were shoddy to say the least, if they happened at all. And yet she is simultaneously very suspicious of any tenants that she thinks might hurt her precious space. The boiler that was in use when we moved in was probably 10 years past the date when it should have been replaced, and it leaked all over the basement floor. The hulk of the previous boiler (probably at least 40 years old) was still sitting there when we moved in. When we asked her to remove it, she paid someone to come in and smash it to bits, which covered every single surface in the basement with a quarter inch of fine, rust-colored dust. Made even more disgusting when the hot water heater sprung a leak during a house party about 2 months later. Definitely STAY AWAY from this landlady. She will make your life miserable in ways you can't even imagine. | |
