[28-Nov-2018] Ron has been quite easily the most remorseless landlord I’ve had to deal with. We were accused on multiple occasions (wrongly might I add), of a “strong marijuana smell” coming from “our apartment”, only to later find out that our neighbor who was reporting this has a smell problem where every little aroma apparently causes her to have breathing problems. We weren’t told about this prior to moving in. So instead of her specifying it was our tart burners, Ron automatically assumed it was weed. After being harassed on 5 separate occasions about this we stopped using our incense, tart burners, and candles. All for the sake of the neighbor. Ron refuses to believe we were telling the truth, and that she was lying (even though she later admitted to us that she didn’t know what the smell was) because she had lived there for years before us and he “never had a problem” and threatened to have dogs search our apartment. We welcomed it, but ofcourse we were defensive because he called me a liar, and said he’d refuse to speak to me again about anything. He never answers my calls. I got my car broke into, and in the advertisement for the property it said it was protected by CCTV, so after asking Ron for the CCTV footage to provide to the officers so I can get my stuff back he informed me that they didn’t work. And they’re essentially there for “pro active” reasons and “he hasn’t had any problems” before. Similarly to the excuse he gave me not to believe us when our neighbor kept falsely accusing us. Not only did Ron make light of the situation by telling me I shouldn’t have left my wallet in my car, he also told me he was laughing at it after I made a joke saying next time they steal my car we’ll have something to laugh about. This has been the most heartless experience I’ve ever had the displeasure of being in. He wasn’t understanding, he offered no sympathies, only his cold hearted advice that it was somehow my fault. I trusted his advertisement that the parking was secure due to the camera and I was MASSIVELY disappointed. It isn’t the first disappointment I’ve had with Ron. During our “weed smell” debacle, he had the gall to call my girlfriends parents and tell them I was a liar and that he refused to speak to me again. Ron has the maturity of a teenager. I wouldn’t recommend living here to anyone. I’m sure this isn’t the last problem I’ll have with this awful company. The apartment is beautiful, aside from the carpeting, false advertisement, and terrible landlord.
All in all, if you cannot secure your property, and make sure the tenants aren’t SAFE and their propert is NOT SAFE, why advertise and put up signs saying it is? Last time I checked; robbers don’t care about signs.
If you’re not gonna care about the tenants and their wellbeing sell the property!! Don’t be a slumlord.
I’d also like to add; pre-moving in- Ron said the parking lot was protected with a camera, it’s a terrible thing to find out AFTER your belongings have been stolen out of your car.
