[27-Dec-2018] What a nightmare this guy is. Within a week of moving into an apartment of his, the ceiling started leaking. Not a few drips of water either, when it rained, water poured through to ceiling. So bad that it even opened a hole in the drywall. He never repaired it, he always had an excuse and assured me the weather is going to get better.
The stove had an electrical issue which caused me to be severely shocked twice, he did nothing about it. He said it may have something to do with all the water coming in and not to use it. UH DUHHHH
There was no heat in the apartment. Prior to moving in he said there was electrical heat, and a wood stove in the basement (which I did not have access to) that he keeps lit. No such thing, come to find out there is NO heat and the place was essentially the same temperature as the outdoors. This means every night it dropped below 65, it was the same temp in the apartment. AND HE DID NOTHING. He said he would install baseboard heaters in 4 weeks, this would have put me until mid October with no heat in New England, not happening.
There was mold, there were pests, appliances that he promised he'd fix, and he didn't do any upkeep to the outside even though it said he would in the lease.
I ended up getting the health department involved and had to go find another apartment. AND on top of all this, he kept my security deposit after he promised he'd return it when I vacated the apartment after I confronted him about the health concerns and his lack of responsibility.
Carmine P Amelio did not meet a single term in the lease agreement. I cannot believe someone like this is allowed to be a landlord. I feel sorry for any person who has to deal with him.
