ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (1)
[05-Jun-2019] The Landlord/manager lives onsite in the garage, with his girlfriend and teenager visiting most weekends. The master bedroom and the room in the back have their own restroom. The main restroom by the hallway is shared by up to 4 people, including the landlord. If you count when his son and girlfriend are over, that means that up to 6 people may be using the main restroom, which can be an issue and often is at times. Before moving in, I was not told that I might have to share the restroom with 5 other people on the weekends. The restroom is tiny with a shower and toilet right next to each other. The house is in fair condition, but tenants are expected to clean the house and yard themselves. There is no housekeeping or landscaping service that regularly comes by. There is no onsite laundry for tenants to use, as the landlord keeps the washer and dryer to himself in the garage.

The neighborhood is in an area full of mostly apartments and homes. There are more renters than homeowners in the area, making for a difficult parking situation, especially at night. At first, the landlord would let me park on the sidewalk if parking got overcrowded. He then reneged on that offer, saying that "his" landlord didn't want that anymore (his landlord is most likely his father, who does not live onsite). At night, parking can become nearly impossible to find. There were several times I had to drive many blocks away from the house just to find parking. In the end, the landlord allowed me to park in the driveway if one of the other tenants was not parking there.

The landlord was generally nice, especially at the beginning, but he has some communication issues. He also has a temper, which I've seen from time to time when his girlfriend is over. He's generally fair, but when I moved out, he took more than the legal limit of 21 days to return my deposit and then added some BS charges to lessen my deposit. He charged me for room cleanup and back yard cleanup. I left the room in better condition than when I moved in. I also cleaned up all of my mess in the back yard before leaving and he had the gall to charge me for this fake charge. That is dishonest. I would never rent from this landlord again.
