ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (1)
[24-Jun-2020] Re: moving in
The landlord did not inspect the apartment before I moved in. The apartment needed painting when I moved in and the landlord refused to paint. The bathroom was dirty. Some of the landlords furniture was still in the house and refused to move the furniture out.

Re: repairs
The landlord will make repairs quickly that may damage the house like a water leak or flood but he will not make repairs when an appliance breaks.

Re: the apartment
The only working kitchen is in the basement and after repairs that were made to a leaky waste pipe in the basement, the kitchen was no longer sanitary. I asked the landlord to remove the old antique Non-working oven on the ground floor and replace with a working oven, even a used oven but he refused. The first room in the apartment or the sun room opens up to the living room and the kitchen so during the summer you will be spending a fortune to cool the apartment.

Re: Privacy
Shortly after I moved in, I purchased a new sofa set with a throw rug for the living room. There was a clock on the wall that kept me awake, so I took it down and put it in the basement. A few days after, I was talking to the landlord then he says to me “I see you made yourself at home quickly and took down my clock. Was it bothering you?” I was shocked because it was obvious that he had someone come into the apartment while I was away and report back to him what that person saw. I told him not to violate my privacy again or he will have problems.

Re: security deposit
After I moved out the landlord kept some of my deposit because I loaned his small room A/C to a new tenant that did not have one, that new tenant broke the A/C but I was charged for the cost of the A/C. The landlord sent me a letter telling why he kept some the the security and also said that he had to hire cleaners when the apartment was not clean when I moved in.
