[19-Dec-2020] Azhar Supariwala is one of the worst people I've ever met in my life (my personal opinion, you yourself might encounter worse). I have never been treated with such disrespect in a rental situation (again, I've been very lucky to not experience anything like this until this late in life).

The unit had black mold in the HVAC units (note: cleaned in Dec 2019 after much negotiation- would make sure there is evidence of fresh cleaning if you are looking to rent), pubic hair and used dental tools from previous tenants, and a broken window.

He broke quarantine and exposed me and my children to COVID-19 by sneaking people into my apartment for tours without my consent and without proper NY State COVID consent forms. My family had to get tested due to this exposure.


The Horizon building itself is great- the staff is wonderful and the location is fantastic. In fact, I still live in the building- just in a different unit. Other units have been updated with hardwood floors and remodeled kitchens and have views of the pool or even private terraces. Unit 323 in particular has original cabinets and countertops and is fully carpeted- it also overlooks an ongoing construction project and the train platform.

Just one woman's opinion, but I would encourage people to look into the Horizon building, but beware of Dr. Supariwala as a landlord.

PS. Read the lease carefully for any clauses which might hold you as a tenant responsible for maintenance costs on appliances within the unit.

December 2020 update: I still live in the building and can observe that the screens on the windows of unit 323 are still broken, yet Mr. Supariwala is driving a brand new $150,000 Maserati. Screens cost about $30. Just a note on priorities.
