[16-Apr-2022] I moved in with high hopes since this was the perfect location. The landlord conveyed to me they'd be thrilled if I decided to be a permanent tenant. I intended to do so. However, it soon became apparent that lawn maintenance was abysmal. In the summer, the grass grew to over a foot high and when the lawn care that I paid for in my rent came, it was few and far between. Additionally, there was a huge palm tree right next to where I parked that constantly dropped fronds right next to/on my vehicle and I would drag the fronds into the front yard and contact the landlord only to be ignored. The yard was an eyesore to this otherwise beautiful community of well-maintained homes. The back yard patio had broken unusable lawn chairs, and a tree that had fallen over remained there. I had notified the landlord of all these things and was ignored. Additionally, most of the kitchen cabinets hung open my entire tenancy of one year, after repeated requests for them to be fixed. I held them together with rubber bands. The bathtub in bathroom would not drain and was not fixed because it would've cost too much. The sink in bathroom would not drain and was not fixed. They notified me they intended to go up on the 2022 lease by $400. I objected because of all the above and started looking for a home to buy as I could see this was going to be a problem for future years' rentals. When I requested that I be allowed to go month to month for just one, perhaps two months, they refused. I was forced to move to an Airbnb until my closing date, as well as pack, hire a mover, and pay storage on my belongings until my closing date.
