[29-Sep-2022] Would spend WEEKS to get around to fixing things. Most weren't really a big deal, so my roommates and I would fix the minor things ourselves. She would constantly talk down to us and was very condescending to not only her tenants, but to the contractors that helped throughout our tenancy. She is absolutely unprofessional and claims she can "charge us $100 per day" for a bearded dragon I had as a pet, which, prior to our move-in was made known and she accepted. She claims we smoke marijuana in the home (we have always smoked outside, but it is legal where we live). She claimed to have purchased a new door after a previous tenant decided to slam the door too hard and broke the glass. She claimed that she purchased the door in May 2021, then had a contractor come out in November. The contractor got COVID and being high-risk, she claimed it was okay for him to come out anyway. I stopped this, and another contractor never showed up again. It's now September 2022 and we still have not had the door replaced.
She claimed to "never" have our phone numbers while only responding to our only male tenant when we had issues. She has shown up on the property with her small children without prior written warning, just a text saying she was on her way. The property has two sets of stairs that they could have easily tripped on and would have made us at fault. They then proceeded to chase my elderly cat around and pull on his tail.
We spent the better part of 6 weeks not having the use of the kitchen sink, and then once it was "fixed" the pipes weren't properly sealed and thus proceeded to leak into the basement, right above where I sew for my small business. They turned the water off in the house and told us to only use the water for emergencies. We weren't told how long the water would remain off, and then, 24 hours later, I flushed all the used toilets and turned the water on for a few minutes to allow the toilets to refill and the ceiling in the basement leaked on top of thread and near quite a few expensive appliances (Lamps, computer, sewing machines) to which she responded, "Not the issue of the landlord"
Never rent or buy from this woman. She'll be nice to you as long as you owe her money, but the moment you sign the lease or contract, she will begin to be the most wretched, condescending person because you are "beneath" her. People who rent are not less than, we need a home just as much as anyone else.
