[29-Mar-2023] This landlord has entered the unit without asking over text or over the phone, multiple times over the course of 2 years. At least once a month. Then this person knocked on my bedroom door calling my name 3 times in 1 week of January 2023. I work from home and attend video calls for both work and for my telehealth appointments, if somebody needs something they're going to have to text me in advance. Her walking in and demanding attention during telehealth appointments is a HUGE breach of privacy.
I told her to leave, that she did not send prior notice of her arrival and was not supposed to be there, and that it was NOT hard to text me in advance. And for the record, I have never denied this woman entry into the unit. She refused to leave, I asked her if she cared about the law. She was willing to argue with me over what the law was, and told me to leave if I didn't like it. I told her she was disrespecting me, my space, and that she was wasting our time.
I have never missed a payment in my 2 years of living here. I'm clean, quiet, stable source of income, I don't damage property, I don't harass my neighbors or roommates, I have no criminal record, no history of substance abuse, nothing about me worth evicting for. After seeing her out of the unit, I texted her the tenant-landlord Unit Access webpage to make sure she knew what the protocol was for Hawaii. She told me that she just wanted to make sure the unit was clean and everything was working properly. She had a plumber service the shower 8 days later because it was clogged for nearly a month, since Christmas. Another month later, she was not willing to schedule repairs for a clogged sink that was right next to the shower and the front door because "I didn't tell her that it was clogged." What on earth is this woman doing if not conducting inspections like she had just told me? Not once in the past 3 months has she apologized for intruding on my personal space, arguing with me, and wasting my time.
Never have I met such a rude, entitled, nosy, self-centered busybody in my life. I regret ever sharing my living space in any capacity with this person. She is not the owner of the unit, which astounds me as to why she thinks she can walk in and argue with me like she owns the place.
The last guy who lived in this unit still lives in this building too, he told me that the owner gave him 30 days for him and his kids to leave the unit. He's a single father of 3 and was not anticipating the move. She won't tell me that she knows him or even acknowledge that he lived there.
