[11-Jul-2024] Justin Coupens is a slumlord. He does not provide receipts for rent payments. He ignores needed repairs and thinks it is a joke if you get locked out of your own apartment, never bothering to fix the door. There was an increasing amount of black mold in the bathroom. The heating system was antiquated and unsafe. He left the porch sitting in an unsafe position for a year and a half and his attempts at "fixing" it did nothing but make the problem worse. He is a threat to any renter because he does not maintain his properties. He refused to give my deposit back, nor provide proof of why he was keeping my deposit in a timely manner. I had a bad feeling about this man from the day that my ex and I met him, and my feeling was more than right. If there was any kind of a real housing authority in this area, this man would not be allowed to rent to anyone. He should not be allowed to rent to anyone because his negligence will one day cost someone their life. Not only that, he seems to target people that live in poverty and don't know their rights or are afraid of illegal retaliation when they make demands for things to be fixed that are their rights by law. Men like Justin give all landlords a bad name, particularly when they target the hard working who live in poverty and can barely make ends meet as it is.
