[20-Jul-2012] I moved into this address under a different landlord. Prior to my moving out, the landlord had changed twice, ending with this one.
Here comes the laundry list of issues with this slum lord:
The landlord charged us $450 off our security deposit for pre-existing damages on the apartment.
Our lease stated we had to have the carpet professionally cleaned prior to moving out, we paid $130 to have this done, he still said the carpets were not clean enough, and charged us for this.
He charged us for a missing drawer on the inside of the refrigerator which was never there to begin with.
He charged us for holes in the stairwell that were pre-existing and not caused by us or by us moving out.
He NEVER got things fixed in a timely manner. We often had to call him 2 or 3 times over the course of 2 months to get things done.
Our apartment constantly mice (as does his deli) and he did nothing but blame this on the tenants.
No one was allowed air conditioners, even if they offered to pay for the expense they would cause.
The property lawn was always allowed to grow to high levels before being mowed.
Windows in the apartment leaked.
...the list goes on.
The reality was the house is VERY old and instead of bringing it up to par for renters, the property keeps getting shifted from owner to owner, with no improvements being made.
All I can say is this jerk ripped us off of $400+ of our security deposit and was not only lazy, but nasty, rude, mean, inconsiderate.
COMPLETE SLUM LORD! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MAN!
