[12-May-2013] Landlord//Slumlord, Mr Kevin L. Jones from Corona, Ca. Has properties in Hemet, San Janinto and Palm-Springs Ca.
I've rented one of his places in Hemet a few months ago and it's been a Nightmare to say the least!!. Upon my arrival I noticed that we Had No heat in unit, the unit was grossly dirty, and in the bathroom was Heavy Black & green Mold build-up, as well as backed up smelly sewer water in bathtub. Its been over 6months and Ive been pleading with Kevin l. Jones to fix said issues.
- We haven't been able to use shower for some time now.
-The few times that he has sent someone over, He Gives No type of notice before sending his Meath head handyman over, which is always late hours of night.
(Always between 7-11pm)
-He Speaks & treats his tenants with no respect or common courtesy with commits like;
"IF I SAY BE HOME YOU BE HOME THAT'S A GIVEN!" Or "MAKE DO WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AND SCOOP THE SEWER WATER OUT AND DEAL WITH IT!", "SENDING ME TEXT & PICTURES IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOUR SITUATION SO STOP IT ALREADY!"
I have text msg & picture of proof. The lack of respect he has towards his tenants is unreal. His handyman will say he'll be by at 9am but won't show up or return calls until way after 10pm and expect to be let in. I can go on and on.... But I think you get the point.

I have giving my 30 day notice due to VIOLATION CODE # 1942 of the Fair Housing
THERE'S GOT TO BE SOMETHING THAT US GOOD TENANTS CAN DO TO PROTECT OUR SELFS FROM THESE SLUMLORDS.?.
ISN'T THERE ANYONE THAT CAN AND WILL TAKE TIME AND HELP US.???
KEVIN L. JONES SHOULD BE MADE REASONABLE FOR KEEPING HIS UNITS UP TO CODE.
THE LAW STATES THAT ALL RENTAL UNITS MUST HAVE WORKING HEAT, AND WORKING PLUMBING.
THE QUESTION IS, WHO WILL STEP UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING AND DO THIER JOB BY ENFORCING THESE LAWS??? ANYONE??
WE THE TENANTS ARE GETTING SCEWED BY THESE LANDLORD/SLUMLORDS.
-I'VE CALLED CODE ENFORCEMENT WITH LITTLE HELP, THEY JUST KEEP TRANSFERRING ME AROUND & NO ONE CAN HELP ME BECAUSE ITS NOT A NEW BUILDING, Which is the point, it's the older ones that needs to be checked on and made sure their code enforced.
- FAIR HOUSING WAS MOST HELPFUL, THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD GOOD CAUSE TO BRAKE MY LEASE. CC#1942
