[26-Dec-2013] This old beach house has some appeal, but beware of the awful slumlord! :( This landlord is unprofessional and extremely unreasonable. Repairs were fixed in an untimely manner, and some major repairs were never fixed at all. An old sliding glass door was damaged from before I moved in and did not even close all the way, making it impossible to lock (talk about a liability!) An old, leaky roof caused large holes in the ceiling of the kitchen and remained there for close to two years. Most repairs were necessary due to faulty appliances or outdated and run-down amenities that needed to just be updated or replaced. When things did break, the landlord pushed the bill onto the tenants. This landlord was also very unprofessional and sometimes even cursed at my roommates and I when issues arose. I was a clean, responsible, and respectful tenant. I always paid my rent each month on time for 4 years while living at the property. I did my best to maintain the property during my time there and yet was nickled and dimed at the very end. Once I moved out, I was finally left with a bill which was twice the amount of my rent for a laundry list of superfulous charges. Let me also mention that this woman had the audacity to ask me if I had any friends that might be interested in renting the place once I moved out. I would never want anyone to endure a lease with this landlord. If you can, find another beach house... because this one definitely isn't worth the trouble.
